Dr. Sandra Fowkes Godek is a world-renowned expert in Hydration Sports Science, with over a decade of research in thermoregulation, athlete sweat testing, and fluid & electrolyte replenishment.

Dr. Sandra Fowkes Godek has given more than 80 regional, national and international presentations on the topics of thermoregulation, and fluid and electrolyte balance including sweat rates and sweat sodium losses, sodium depletion and acute exertional hyponatremia and exertional heat stroke.  She has more than 60 first or second author publications on thermoregulation in collegiate and professional athletes. In 2004, Dr. Sandra Fowkes Godek received the Kenneth Knight Journal of Athletic Training award for Outstanding Original Research Manuscript.

Most recently, Dr. Fowkes Godek organized and presented at the 3rd International Consensus Conference on Exercise-Associated Hyponatremia (EAH) in Carlsbad, CA.  She also participated in the subsequent consensus meeting and in co-authoring the 3rd International Consensus Statement on EAH which was co-published in the Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine and the British Journal of Sports Medicine in July 2015.
